A Manifesto for a More Wondrous Age

A new year has started, and with it, I’m back to working on my manuscript again. Building up the muscles for writing has been a slow process, like coming off of hypertrophy after a deep sleep; but I’m fully in the groove now. Over the past year, I’ve proved to myself I could do it, and do it regularly—starting with 100 words a day, working on short stories, and then gradually moving up to 300 words a day while I started (re)writing this novel manuscript. And now with the new year, I’ve upped the ante once more, to 500 words a day.

This is Refrakt, a bi-weekly newsletter from Ian J. Battaglia on curiosity, creativity, and (hopefully!) insight, through the lens of photography, writing, study, art and beauty, and my life.
